Overview

During the Summer of 2026, we warmly invite you to the charming village of Agios Georgios Nileias, situated on Mount Pelion with breathtaking views over the Pagasetic Gulf in Greece.

This serene and energising setting will host the upcoming Fluidity Retreat, the ideal place where time appears to slow, immersed in the charm of authentic rural Greece.

The boutique retreat venue, The Pelion Homes, consists of a cluster of five stone-built villas—an ideal and comfortable setting to step away from daily demands, reconnect with nature, and savour the space and light that define this beautiful region.

The Yoga Shala and practice space are located a short distance from the villas, and each day begins with a sensorial five-minute walk along a pastoral path—a gentle immersion in the sea breeze, with grass beneath your feet, birdsong, and the scent of wild herbs.

The shaded, wooden-decked Shala is fully equipped with all the props and materials necessary for a diverse range of practices, including yoga, somatic work, Bartenieff fundamentals, breathwork, meditation, and deep relaxation.

In your free time, unwind in your villa’s private plunge pool, enjoy the serene views from your lounger while reading your favourite novel, follow winding hiking or biking trails through the mountains, discover nearby traditional villages, or visit the local beach.

But this is not the best! In June, the long days bring unforgettable sunsets over the sea—best enjoyed from the terrace while we share wholesome Greek dishes, freshly prepared each evening with local produce.

From a past guest at The Pelion Homes: Amazing place, people and food, a small paradise in the anyway astonishing Pelion countryside.

Programme

This year, we celebrate fluidity in Greece—a land of light, wind, sea, and space. Join us this June in the tranquil embrace of Mount Pelion for a retreat designed to help you rediscover the natural ease within your body and breath, as well as the freedom to move, feel, and express yourself with confidence.

Summer invites movement and expansion, yet many of us find ourselves holding back—physically tense, emotionally guarded, or trapped in patterns that block our vitality.
The Fluidity Retreat is here to support you in gently dissolving those internal impediments: the tightness in the shoulders, the shortness of breath, the overthinking, the hesitation to speak or move freely.

This year, Laurent is delighted to be joined by Pauline Memelink, a gifted Laban Bartenieff Movement facilitator, who will bring a special focus on freedom of movement and expression. Pauline’s work helps participants explore their body’s full expressive potential through patterns of connectivity, rhythmic flow, and embodied presence, deepening our capacity to feel grounded, mobile, and open from within.

Together, we’ll move through a carefully curated blend of yoga, somatic movement, Bartenieff fundamentals, breathwork, and meditation, all designed to reawaken the flow within:

  • Releasing physical tension through intelligent, wave-like movement and floor-based somatics.
  • Freeing the breath with accessible techniques that restore rhythm, depth, and spaciousness.
  • Soothing the nervous system with grounding and cooling practices, ideal for summer.
  • Opening emotional pathways by softening self-protection and inviting embodied safety.
  • Reconnecting with expressive freedom, playfulness, and spontaneity—both on and off the mat.

Daily sessions take place in a shaded, open-air practice space, surrounded by the scent of wild herbs and the sounds of birdsong. This retreat is a gentle yet profound invitation to return to your own natural rhythm. To breathe more freely. To move with ease. To reclaim your joy. To feel alive again—in body, heart, and spirit.

The themed morning Masterclass:

These masterclasses are designed as an explorative and experimental thread that weaves through the entire retreat, from the moment you settle into your room until you return home feeling rejuvenated and smiling.

The retreat programme is a journey, gently unfolding through these daily themed morning sessions – they are inclusive and respectful of all kinds of health conditions and abilities and can be adjusted individually if necessary.

The practice combines techniques and strategies that align with the week’s theme and therapeutic goals, including traditional therapeutic yoga practices, Scaravelli-inspired yoga alongside contemporary movement approaches, somatic and mindful yoga, breathwork, Pranayama, meditation, and grounding practices such as deep rest and Yoga Nidra.

Laurent’s unique, diverse, and comprehensive blend of methods presents a unique opportunity to enhance your practice at your own pace, support your personal objectives, and accommodate any physical conditions or health concerns.

The masterclasses alternate between slower, therapeutic approaches and more dynamic sessions that enhance connection, movement, fluidity, and mobility.

Laurent’s therapeutic expertise ensures these practices are accessible to everyone, with thoughtful variations and individual accommodations to support you throughout your journey.

The peaceful evening session:

Evenings will be dedicated to calming, grounding meditative practices designed to help you unwind and restore balance.

After the day’s activities, Laurent will lead a 90-minute restorative yoga session that combines gentle somatic exercises and movements to release tension and promote deep relaxation, alongside completely still poses to reconnect us with a sense of profound rest.

Each session also includes breathwork and meditation techniques, such as Yoga Nidra, offering space to settle the mind and fully recharge.

Drawing on his extensive repertoire of relaxation and meditative techniques, Laurent creates an atmosphere that fosters physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Whether you’re looking to ease fatigue, reduce stress, or simply enjoy a moment of stillness, these sessions provide essential support for both body and mind.

During the week, you will have one free evening, allowing you to rest or explore the local area at your own pace.

What's unique about this venue?

Pelion Homes is a cluster of five stone-built villas in the village of Agios Georgios Nileias on Mount Pelion, with views over the Pagasetic Gulf that stop you in your tracks when you first arrive. Each villa has its own private plunge pool, kitchenette, and communal areas, and the whole place has the feel of a small, private hamlet rather than a retreat centre.

The yoga shala sits a short distance from the villas, reached by a five-minute walk along a pastoral path through grass and wild herbs, with birdsong and sea breeze for company. It is a shaded, open wooden-decked space, fully equipped for yoga, somatic work, breathwork, and deep relaxation.

In the evenings, the group gathers on the terrace for dinner prepared fresh each day using local produce. In June, the long days bring the kind of slow Aegean sunset that makes conversation easy and unhurried.

A past guest described it as "a small paradise in the astonishing Pelion countryside." It is hard to put it better than that.

Optional Activities

Free time at Pelion Homes is genuinely easy to fill. The peninsula has a particular beauty in June, and there is no shortage of ways to enjoy it.

Within the villas, each property has its own private plunge pool. Bring a book, find a lounger, and let the afternoon pass quietly with views over the Pagasetic Gulf.

The surrounding landscape is ideal for walking. Mount Pelion is laced with old kalderimi paths, the traditional stone-paved trails that once connected the peninsula's villages. These routes pass through chestnut and apple orchards, olive groves, and dense forest, with occasional glimpses of the sea below. Cycling is also possible for those who prefer two wheels.

The nearby traditional villages are worth exploring on foot. Each has its own character, a central square shaded by plane trees, stone houses, local tavernas, and the unhurried pace that defines this part of Greece.

The beaches of the Pagasetic Gulf are around 20 minutes away by car. The water is calm and clear on this sheltered side of the peninsula, making it ideal for swimming.

Massage and therapy treatments can be arranged on request.

We are happy to help with arrangements for any of the above.

Travel Information

How to travel to Pelion?

To give you freedom, flights and transfers to the venue are not included in the price. However, we’re happy to help you plan your trip and recommend the best itinerary.

Pelion is roughly the same distance from Athens (ATH) and Thessaloniki (SKG) airports. Both have regular direct flights from the UK and major European cities.

A group transfer (not included in the price) will be arranged from Thessaloniki. We strongly recommend arriving the night before so the transfer can depart mid-morning, and everyone arrives together.

Travelling via Athens? We suggest booking a morning domestic flight from Athens to Thessaloniki, ensuring you arrive before 10:30 am so you can join the group transfer.

Transfer time from Thessaloniki: approx. 2.5 to 3 hours

On departure (Thursday 18th September), one group transfer to Thessaloniki Airport will be organised. If you’re taking this transfer, make sure your outbound flight doesn’t depart before 14:30.

If you are hiring a car:

  • From Thessaloniki – approx. 2.5 to 3 hours
